Bluechip
provides connectivity to the web servers. Rather than connecting a customers server onto a
shared Local Area Network, bandwidth is delivered to each server over a dedicated,
switched, full-duplex, 10 or 100Mbps Ethernet network (depending on scalability needs).
The Ethernet is then connected directly to the Bluechip core backbone. Customers purchase
an agreed level of bandwidth and can when needed burst to the full bandwidth
available.
For example, the Internet connectivity provisioned could be 1Mbps across a 10Mbps Ethernet
connection, and in this case the customer would be allowed to intermittently burst up to
10Mbps. If customers consistently burst above their purchased level then they can upgrade
to a higher bandwidth level or opt to have their bandwidth fixed.
Bluechip monitors the actual usage on a regular basis. This process will
ensure that you have the bandwidth available to service anticipated demand while allowing
you to keep your average monthly fees lower.
As Bluechip deliver the connectivity via a dedicated backbone connection, we can guarantee
the bandwidth capacity purchased is always available to the web site. |
